J. Crew Men’s Store

Things are not always what they seem. This 1825 liquor storefront was repurposed as a J. Crew Men’s Store. The building is a historical landmark which is why there is no J. Crew signage outside. The location was a stop on the Underground Railroad and the fourth oldest standing house in NYC. Theodore Wright, African-American abolitionist also lived upstairs.  The store still has some of the original signs and decor adding to the overall ambiance along with lots of great casual menswear in this unique setting. The full bar is only used for special events – sorry no whiskey served when buying that t-shirt!

Check it out for a well curated men’s selection, worth the visit.
