British artist Cornelia Parker’s Transitional Object (PsychoBarn), Metropolitan Museum of Art – Met Roof. Large-scale 30 feet high sculpture was inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper and by two emblems of American architecture—the classic red barn and the Bates family’s mansion from Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho. It is made from a deconstructed red barn and at first looks like a genuine house but really is a scaled-down version that consists of two facades propped up from behind with scaffolding. It evokes the psychological associations embedded in architectural spaces set atop The Met, high above Central Park—providing an unusual contrast to the Manhattan skyline.

Thursday around midday. It was very hot that day so people weren’t standing in the sun for very long. I had a wait for the right moment to get a shot without anyone crowding the picture! Didn’t really plan on time to go, just got lucky. Thank you for taking time to like and comment!!
