Interior and product designer Laurence Carr just launched her sustainable luxury brand Studio Laurence in collaboration with award-wining producer Nature’s Legacy. The collection consists of 12 sculptural vessels that can be used as decorative and functional pieces all made from sustainable materials. Laurence Carr is the founder and CEO of Laurence Carr Inc., a regenerative, multifaceted design firm specializing in interiors that embody sustainability and healthy living. Studio Laurence is an extension of her vision of sustainable luxury with a goal of zero-waste product design to mitigate environmental harm. Nature’s Legacy, based in the Philippines, is a B-Corporation® certified sustainable manufacturing company that transforms natural resources into proprietary sustainable materials. Presented in Verellen‘s showroom at the New York Design Center in midtown, the collection deftly settles in with the other selections on view without losing its own unique identity.

“With the launch of Studio Laurence and its first capsule collection, we are solidifying the fact that investing in sustainable materials and manufacturing processes does not negate quality,” says Laurence Carr. “The studio’s mission is to design with finite resources in mind and produce contemporary, artful objects and furnishings in harmony with nature—not at its expense. The capsule collection’s sculptural, handmade vessels employ cutting-edge technologies that prioritize circular materials and champion conscious consumerism. To that end, we frequently collaborate with like-minded manufacturers to embrace our sustainably minded ethos without compromising value or artistry, hence our collaboration with Nature’s Legacy.”
For almost 25 years Verellen has cultivated its Belgium heritage into a modern American vision of high-ontemporary design and style in the furniture industry. The uncomplicated sophistication of the pieces in the showroom well defines their aesthetic of casual chic and quality build.
