Genuine Motorworks based in Brooklyn is the retail arm of Indian Larry Motorcycles. They offer a variety of motorcycle and work-wear products with a rustic Americana vibe–don’t have to be a biker to appreciate the store. All products sold are American made.
There is nothing like a beautifully designed and well made package to draw you to a product. And a successful one properly complements what’s inside without over shadowing it. At the Luxe Pack show at Pier 92 in New York this month there were a lot of fabulous and inventive packaging. Here are a few:
The Green Building – Brooklyn, NY. This space was built in 1889 as a brass foundry and restored to a mixed use venue space. It still has the original exposed brick walls against a wood beam ceiling. The glass doors open to an outdoor courtyard.
Kwang Young Chun – Aggregation 13-ju029, 2013. Mixed media with Korean mulberry paper. The textured surface consists of styrofoam shapes wrapped with the paper and individually dyed; colors sourced from natural extracts. Livly, beautiful children’s boutique in TriBeCa, NY for any little prince or princess. Line was created in Sweden after designer/mom Lisa Carrol had premature twins (Liv and Lilly) and wanted soft clothes for their sensitive skin. Most clothing sold there are made from 100% Pima Cotton.
