Christopher Street in New York City is considered an Ellis Island for gender identity. Famed photographer Mark Seliger presents a brilliant series of black and white images about the people and their complex stories with Christopher Street as the backdrop. The exhibition is a celebration of the neighborhood and the LGBTQ community with Seliger commenting that “Their faces are the studies of beauty, struggle, passion and hope.” Mark Seliger – On Christopher Street: Transgender Portraits, 231 Projects, New York.
