I Laughed So Much I….

Take a peak inside the mind of Roz Chast at The Museum of the City of New York – Roz Chast: Cartoon Memoirs, she is a major contributor to the New Yorker magazine from 1978 until today. Just as a photograph can say volumes in a single image so does Chast’s drawings and captions…her interpretations of everyday life (anxieties, pleasures and perils) are truly genius. The Brooklyn born cartoonist contributed to many other magazines and  illustrated several children’s books.

The Birth of Venus, 2014. We cannot seem process anything no matter how marvelous without the aid of technology.
Be, 2014.(Illustration for 101 Two-Letter Words by Stephin Merritt). “Be yourself all thinkers say”; how odd they think alike.
De, 2014. (Illustration for 101 Two-Letter Words by Stephin Merritt) – De means “of”, or “from” in names like Cruella de Vil. It’s fun to use in drag-name games; to wit: Ova de Hill.
The museum invites guest to sit in sofa and take pictures next to the captions.
