Modern and contemporary fashion shone brightly at MAGIC and COTERIE in New York this month after a successful show in March. Combined both shows featured over 1000 brands from more than 30 countries including many from the USA. Color, shine, prints, patterns, fun and optimism were onboard from a wide variety of styles and products ready for eager retailers to showcase for customers.
MAGIC
On the MAGIC floors new collections across ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories for spring 2023 offered many bold ideas sure to grace the wardrobes of many consumers next year. There was a noticeable increase in attendees this session as NYC continues to move back to its normal routine of welcoming large swaths of visitors. ” At MAGIC New York we saw a 38% increase year over year in our attendance. This is a true reflection of how live events are back and key to our industry’s success. MAGIC’s brands were filled with bold colors, vibrant patterns, and trending textures.” -Kelly Helfman, President of Informa Markets Fashion

COTERIE
In a new evolution of COTERIE, the show focused on three central pillars: sustainability, technology, and community. These themes could be seen throughout the show floor in the various immersive experiences, panel sessions and sustainability presentations. One standout in the sustainability sector was Belgium brand Hnst. Using propriety techniques, they recycle jeans into super soft fabrics that are almost indistinguishable to their virgin counterparts. Beyond recycled products some of the trends featured in the show were: retro sneakers, cutouts, matching separates, knit dresses, asymmetrical shoulders and novelty bags among others along with the color orange being a must have for spring 2023.

The next MAGIC & COTERIE shows will be on February 13-15, 2023, at the Las Vegas Convention Center and February 21-23 at the Javits Center in New York.
