Interior design took center stage this month when the D&D Building hosted another market week for the home industry, the first in person event in some time. Held over two days the market featured a variety of brands, showrooms and designer products, including numerous book signings along with panel discussions about the business of interior design. The theme this season was ‘Collaborations’, about all the different people that designers collaborate with on their projects.

Lighting
From quirky chandeliers, wall sconces to table lamps, innovative and beautiful lighting sets the tone for any room. At times the lighting can even be the focal point that other interior design pieces complement as brands become more creative such as the image featured in this post, Konekt. Konekt is a family-owned furniture and lighting studio that creates handmade pieces using unexpected materials by artisans based in the US.

A Place To Sit
Nothing is better than well-made furniture that’s also great to look at, whether modern or nostalgic great design is always a must. Brands are continuing to give a multitude of choices any imaginable design project.

Pattern and Color
Adding pattern and color to a space usually involves more than a couple coats of paint. Showrooms presented what’s next for rugs and other flooring options, window treatments and upholstery textiles.

Home Decor & Bathrooms
Accent pieces offer a great finishing touch to any interior design aesthetic. Bathroom fixtures have become more elegant and inventive where they may be in the best designed room in the house.
