When you come across an exhibition that offers a unique take on a subject or a new way of presenting art, it’s like hitting the lottery. At Fremin Gallery using broken plates with an array of detailed patterns, Robert Strati continues the design dialogue by extending the conversation with each broken shard. Strati frees not only the motifs captured in the patterns of the broken plates, but also extends them through movement beyond their original intent. The series came to be from an accident involving a porcelain plate inherited from his wife’s mother that reflects on the beauty and impermanence of everyday life.
