The 2025 NYC Pride Parade, held on June 29, was a vibrant celebration of LGBTQIA+ identity, resilience, and activism. With the theme “Rise Up: Pride in Protest,” this year’s march honored the legacy of the 1969 Stonewall Riots while spotlighting ongoing struggles for equality. The parade began at 26th Street and 5th Avenue, winding through Greenwich Village and past the historic Stonewall National Monument before concluding at 15th Street and 7th Avenue.
A large contingent of spectators and marchers filled the streets with color, music, and powerful messages of solidarity. Grand Marshals included Karine Jean-Pierre, Marti Gould Cummings, DJ Lina and others, recognized for their advocacy and impact. Beyond the parade, NYC Pride 2025 featured a full weekend of events. PrideFest, the nation’s largest LGBTQIA+ street fair, transformed 4th Avenue into a vibrant corridor of food, music, and community booths. Youth Pride, held at South Street Seaport, offered a safe and empowering space for LGBTQIA+ youth and their allies. This year’s Pride was not just a celebration—it was a call to action. In a political climate marked by increasing restrictions on gender-affirming care and LGBTQIA+ expression, the theme “Rise Up” resonated deeply. Marchers carried signs demanding justice, equity, and protection for trans youth and queer communities of color.
